The Story Behind RedHead Hill

A Legacy of Creating

The name RedHead Hill holds a special piece of my heart. Years ago, my dad hand-burned a wooden sign with those exact words for my son—a sweet nod to the red hair they shared. My dad is gone now, but that sign lives on. Naming this place RedHead Hill felt like the perfect way to carry a little piece of his craftsmanship and memory forward.

Creativity has always been a family tradition. My mom is a maker through and through—she made our clothes growing up, paints, carves wood, and has tackled just about every creative project you can imagine. Between her artistic spirit and my dad’s handiwork, I naturally grew up needing to make things, too.

Over the years, my own hands have rarely been still—moving from painting and making wreaths to scrapbooking, quilting, and most recently, bag-making and embroidery.

From Kitchen Table to Creative Haven

RedHead Hill really began around my own sewing table.

For years, I invited friends over to spend the day crafting together. We were often working on completely different projects, but there was something special about simply creating alongside one another. No pressure. No agenda. Just good friends, good conversation, and time to make something we loved.

Those casual get-togethers eventually grew into a monthly “sewing with friends” retreat right at my house. And we quickly realized how rare, and how precious, that uninterrupted creative time really was.

That’s the feeling I wanted to recreate at RedHead Hill: a dedicated, thoughtful space where small groups can gather, spread out, create, laugh, recharge, and completely lose themselves in the projects they love.

A Little Slice of Quiet

When you’re here, I hope you give yourself permission to step away from your workstation, grab a cup of coffee, and head outside for a while.

One of my favorite spots on the property is the rocking chair on the back porch, where I can watch the breeze move through the trees and listen to the birds singing over the hills. It’s the kind of simple moment that reminds you to slow down.

Whether you bring your regular crafting crew or come for a quiet weekend focused on your own projects, I hope RedHead Hill feels like a little home away from home — a place where you can create, connect, and simply enjoy being here.

I can’t wait to welcome you.
